"Let
the children come to me, " Jesus said. At Faith, ministry which
brings children and youth to Christ is given great importance. In
response to the Family of Faith's promises made in baptism, we offer
a variety of children and youth programs.
Children
and Worship
Two options are readily available at Faith. First, is that we encourage
families to worship together. Each week, worship is a family event.
The presence of children and youth in worship is certainly a blessing.
We hand out special bulletins and offer a Children's Sermon time
at most worship services. Second, for those with small children
unable to sit still, we offer a newly refurbished infant/childcare
facility. This allows parents a chance of worshiping with some peace.
Our facility is supervised by a paid Nursery Attendant from 8:15-12:15
each Sunday (during the summer months from 8:15 - 10:45).
In addition during
the year, we offer two special worship services designed especially
for families. On Christmas Eve, we offer a 5:00 p.m. family worship.
Children's Choirs provide choral leadership and lessons are read
from a children's version of the Bible. On Good Friday, we offer
a Children's Cross Walk. Children participate in a variety of activities
as they follow Jesus' steps to the cross. They are each given a
special Good Friday Egg to help them prepare for the miracle of
Easter.
Children
and Giving
The value of servant giving - stewardship - is one that needs to
be taught and learned in our "me-first" culture. Four
years ago the decision was made that all Sunday Church School offerings
would go directly to a special project, to which the children could
become excited about giving.
